Statement of Faith

"There is life in the desert"

Our Foundation

At Desert Life Media, our commitment to publishing clean, wholesome Christian fiction flows from our foundational beliefs about God, His Word, and His redemptive work in the world. As we share stories of hope, redemption, and faith set in the beautiful Southwest, we ground our mission in these essential truths of biblical Christianity.

Scripture

The foundational basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that Scripture in its entirety originated with God and that it was given through chosen human authors. The Bible speaks with the authority of God while simultaneously reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of these human authors. We hold that the Scriptures, in their original manuscripts, are infallible and inerrant—the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice. There are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

Biblical Support: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5

God

We believe there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality. In the beginning God created out of nothing the world and all the things therein, thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom, and goodness. By His sovereign power He continues to sustain His creation. By His providence He is operating throughout history to fulfill His redemptive purposes.

Biblical Support: Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal second person of the Trinity, fully God and fully man, through whose work and person God has achieved His redemptive purpose. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived in perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, satisfying divine justice and bringing salvation to all who trust in Him alone. After His physical death, Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. He promises to return to earth personally and visibly to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God.

Biblical Support: John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who was sent into the world by the Father and the Son to apply to mankind the saving work of Christ. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates those who believe, permanently indwells every believer from the moment of salvation, and becomes the source of assurance, strength, and wisdom. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Bible, and His power makes it possible for believers to lead lives of Christ-like character.

Biblical Support: John 16:7-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19; John 14:26; Galatians 5:22-25

Humanity and Sin

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character and purpose. Originally created to have fellowship with God, humanity chose to disobey God and was thus alienated from Him. All individuals have inherited this fallen nature, rendering them unable to please God in their own strength and in need of the saving grace of God. We are the supreme object of God's creation, with tremendous potential for good, but marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin.

Biblical Support: Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 5:12

Salvation

The salvation of humanity is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. Salvation must be personally received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Each person who trusts in Christ is justified by grace through faith, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and given eternal life. True believers, once saved, are kept secure in Christ forever by God's grace and power.

Biblical Support: Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; John 3:16; John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:5

Christian Living

The essential accompaniment of a genuine saving relationship with Jesus Christ is a life of holiness and obedience. This is attained by believers as they submit to the Holy Spirit and grow in grace. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor, and justice for the oppressed.

Biblical Support: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:6; Micah 6:8; 1 John 4:20-21

The Church

The true church comprises all who have been justified by God's grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The true church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of believers.

Biblical Support: Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2:41-47

Our Mission in Publishing

From these foundational truths flows our commitment to publish fiction that entertains while reflecting Christian values. We believe that God can use stories to demonstrate hope and encouragement, showing that there is indeed life in the desert seasons of existence. Our content standards honor God and family by providing clean, wholesome entertainment that uplifts the human spirit and points readers toward the redemptive love of Christ.

We publish stories featuring strong character development, themes of redemption and grace, authentic faith journeys, and the beauty of family and community—all set against the backdrop of the American Southwest. Through entertainment-first storytelling, we seek to reflect the truth that God works in all circumstances to bring beauty from brokenness and life from what seems barren.

Our Commitment

In essential beliefs, we have unity. In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty. In all our beliefs, we show love. This statement reflects our core convictions while recognizing that faithful Christians may differ on secondary matters. Our goal is not to divide but to unite under the banner of biblical truth, producing content that honors Christ and serves His people.

"There is life in the desert." - This truth, both spiritual and geographical, guides everything we do at Desert Life Media.
